4ThePlayer and Yggdrasil team up on new Vikings-themed fishing slot
4ThePlayer has launched 4 Fantastic Vikings Go Fishing, a collaboration with Yggdrasil that merges its 4 Fantastic Fish series with Vikings Go Berzerk.
4ThePlayer released 4 Fantastic Vikings Go Fishing on 29 October 2024, a joint title developed with Yggdrasil that combines elements of two established slot franchises: 4ThePlayer’s 4 Fantastic Fish and Yggdrasil’s Vikings Go Berzerk.
The high volatility game is themed around a voyage into the domain of Njord, the Viking sea lord, with a maximum win of 12,500 times the stake. It uses several mechanics including the MONEY WAYS feature, Fighting Respins and Viking Fights.
Game mechanics
The MONEY WAYS mechanic allows players to form winning combinations carrying cash values, with four top prize tiers, BIG, SUPER, MEGA and ULTRA, able to land on the sixth reel. A giant squid symbol can also appear, randomly redistributing cash prizes and generating new winning combinations.
Three scatter symbols trigger Fighting Respins, during which cash prizes from the triggering spin are locked in place while the remaining reels respin. Any additional cash prizes landing on open reels are also locked, and if an open reel becomes completely filled, a shark symbol collects the prizes and doubles them, holding the total at the top of the reel.
During this bonus round, Viking symbols can appear and battle for one of four outcomes: Cash Collect, which gathers visible prizes; Cash Multiplier, which increases prize values; Cash Incrementor, which raises cash amounts; and Cash Nets, which guarantee prize payouts. If a Viking in “Berzerk” mode takes part in a fight, it automatically wins and triggers its associated feature.
Players also have the option to buy into the Fighting Respin Bonus, which offers a chance of Berzerk Vikings appearing, or a Mega Respin Bonus, which guarantees four Berzerk Vikings.
The game runs on Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, a standardised, regulation-ready development toolkit designed to help partners build and distribute new content efficiently.
