Boomerang Games marks Chinese New Year with 3 Wonders New Year Carnival slot
YG Masters studio Boomerang Games has released a Chinese New Year themed slot developed through its partnership with Yggdrasil and ReelPlay.
Boomerang Games, a studio within Yggdrasil’s YG Masters programme, has launched 3 Wonders New Year Carnival, a slot themed around the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake.
The game features three coloured lanterns alongside dragon scatter symbols. When a dragon triggers a lantern to explode, it activates a bonus round drawing on one of three Free Spins features: win multipliers of up to 5x, expanding wilds that cover an entire reel, or contagious wilds that spread across neighbouring symbols. According to the release, all three lanterns can be triggered concurrently, meaning players may access free spins in which every bonus feature applies at once.
A separate Hold & Respin mechanic is triggered when three coin symbols land on the reels. During this feature only coin and collect symbols appear, with coins held in place while other positions respin, and collect symbols awarding all accumulated coin prizes.

The title runs on Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, which the company says gives studio partners access to a standardised, regulation-ready development toolkit designed to support faster production and distribution of new content.
Zoe Bird, head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said the release was a fitting way to mark the Chinese New Year, adding that the game combines strong visuals with engaging mechanics.
David Johnson, chief executive of ReelPlay, said the title was expected to perform well across key markets, citing the layered features within the 3 Wonders Free Spins round and the game’s seasonal visual style as points of appeal for both players and operators.
