Play'n GO to join G7, G20 and UN talks on gambling policy
The casino games supplier will take part in a new three-part global forum on responsible gaming, starting with the G7 Leaders' Summit in Calgary this week.
Play’n GO has confirmed its participation in the inaugural Global Forum on Responsible Gaming and Gambling Policy, a new initiative running alongside the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Calgary. The supplier said it is the only online gambling content provider invited to take part.
The forum forms the first of three planned sessions, with further meetings scheduled to coincide with the G20 Summit and the United Nations General Assembly later in 2025. According to the company, the discussions are expected to feed into formal policy recommendations covering public health, youth protection, innovation and industry sustainability.
Calgary session
Shawn Fluharty, Play’n GO’s Head of Government Affairs, is due to lead a session on the opening day of the G7 Summit on 13 June. The session will bring together regulators, neuroscientists and public health experts to examine the relationship between gambling, mental wellness and policy.
Fluharty said positioning responsible gaming within major international policy forums was important for ensuring regulation keeps pace with innovation while protecting consumers. He added that engagement across the G7, G20 and UN meetings would demonstrate the value of early collaboration between industry and lawmakers in developing consistent global standards.
Wider regulatory stance
Play’n GO has previously called for tighter regulation of the online gambling sector and has stated it will not supply its game portfolio to sweepstakes casino operators.
The company, marking its 20th anniversary this year, supplies casino content including Book of Dead, Reactoonz and Moon Princess to regulated operators in more than 30 jurisdictions. It has recently expanded into a music division and remains a partner of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.
The announcement was issued by Play’n GO via PR agency Square in the Air.
