BetGames launches penalty shootout game Lucky Kicks

BetGames has added Lucky Kicks to its games portfolio, a title combining sports betting mechanics with casino-style chip wagering, the company announced on 2 September 2024.

The game uses real, pre-recorded footage of penalty kicks, drawing on a library of close to 5,000 recorded penalties. A new shootout is played every 30 seconds, with players betting on how many of three penalties will be scored. Options include predicting the exact sequence of scored or missed kicks, or placing an outright bet on the total number of goals.

Wagers are placed using casino-style chips, which players can spread across multiple outcomes in a single round, a mechanic BetGames says reflects its broader push to blend sports betting and casino gaming formats.

Branding options for operators

Lucky Kicks can be customised with operator branding, with partner logos displayed prominently behind the goal during gameplay. BetGames says this is designed to give operators a way to boost brand visibility while offering players a distinct betting experience.

Ian Catchick, Chief Product and Business Development Officer at BetGames, said the release was intended to replicate the tension of a penalty shootout far more frequently than such moments occur in elite football, while appealing to both football fans and casino players through its chip-based betting structure. He added that the branding option gives operator partners a way to combine engaging gameplay with increased brand exposure.

BetGames supplies live dealer and fixed-odds betting games to a number of tier-one operators, including Entain, Betway, Hollywoodbets, STS and Kaizen Gaming. The company has previously received industry awards from SBC and AffPapa for its work in live casino gaming.
