Games Global lands exclusive rights to Playbook Fusion's football betting title
Games Global has signed a 12-month exclusive agreement with Playbook Fusion to distribute Playbook Football to its operator partners.
Games Global, a supplier of iGaming content, has agreed an exclusive 12-month deal with Playbook Fusion to bring the sports-themed betting game Playbook Football to its third-party platform, the companies announced on 16th January 2025.
The title blends mechanics from gambling and video games, letting players build and manage their own football team, compete against other squads and progress through divisions over the course of a season while placing in-game bets.
How the game works
Players can customise their club by choosing a nationality, name, badge and kit colours. Teams start in Division 10 and aim to work their way up to Division 1 by managing squad performance and chemistry across a season.
During matches, opponents are drawn either from AI-controlled teams or from other players’ squads. Comparative statistics between the two sides are used to generate betting markets, with options covering match result, over/under goals, correct score and first, last or anytime goalscorer markets.
Placing bets earns players experience points that build up across sessions, unlocking rewards such as player packs and boost cards that can improve team performance.
Strategic rationale
According to Games Global, the deal adds a distinctive product to its content portfolio and reflects existing operator interest in the title. Andy Booth, Chief Product Officer at Games Global, said the partnership allows the company to offer partners a product combining football with betting strategy, describing it as aligned with the firm’s aim of delivering standout content.
Steve Rogers, Founder and CEO of Playbook Fusion, said the tie-up with Games Global gives Playbook Football access to a wider audience during what he called a crucial launch phase, and that the studio expects the title to become a leading product in the gamified sports betting category.
Games Global describes itself as a developer, distributor and marketer of iGaming content, working with more than 1,400 proprietary games developed across 42 in-house and partnered studios over the past 20 years, spanning slots, table games, video poker, video bingo, progressive jackpots, game shows, crash games and live casino products.
Playbook Fusion is described as a boutique B2B games studio focused on merging gambling and video game mechanics to create sports-themed betting products that give players a sense of ownership and control over strategy and outcomes.
