Pragmatic Play launches John Hunter and Galileo’s Secrets slot
Pragmatic Play has added a space-themed instalment to its John Hunter series, combining mystery symbols and a money respin feature with up to 5,000x win potential.
Pragmatic Play has released John Hunter and Galileo’s Secrets, the newest title in its long-running John Hunter slot series, on 20th February 2025. The game pairs mystery symbols with a money respin mechanic and offers a maximum win of 5,000 times the stake.
Set against an astronomy theme featuring telescopes, globes and maps, the 5x3 grid uses mystery symbols capable of covering entire reels. These can convert into standard paying symbols or into money symbols that help trigger the respin round.
Respin and bonus mechanics
Landing six or more money symbols activates a respin feature with three initial respins, which reset to three each time a new money symbol appears. The round ends, paying out the accumulated cash value, once respins run out or the grid is completely filled with money symbols.
Three book scatter symbols trigger a free spins bonus round, starting with eight spins. A random symbol is chosen before the round begins to set the starting tier, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Super, and players can use a gamble option to try to reach a higher tier before the spins start.
During the free spins, full mystery symbols always expand across the reel, and scatters collected in a meter can upgrade the tier further. Every four scatters gathered raises the level, selects a new mystery symbol at random, and adds two extra spins. The top Super tier can also be reached directly if a super scatter appears in a triggering base game spin. In this tier, the money symbol always functions as the mystery symbol, increasing the likelihood of activating the respin feature.

The release follows other recent additions to Pragmatic Play’s portfolio, including Wild Wildebeest Wins, Bigger Bass Splash and Ancient Island Megaways.
Irina Cornides, Chief Operating Officer at Pragmatic Play, said the John Hunter series remains one of the supplier’s most popular, noting that the new title’s upgrading mystery symbols enhance the bonus round and offer wins of up to 5,000x.
