Thunderkick enters crash game market with Heads Will Roll
Stockholm-based slots studio Thunderkick has released its first crash game, Heads Will Roll, marking its debut outside the slots vertical.
Independent games studio Thunderkick has launched Heads Will Roll, its first title in the crash game category, according to a release from the Stockholm-based developer dated 17 September 2025.
Set in an underground vault theme, the game sees players climb a multiplier ladder by rolling a die that can produce one of three results: a level-up, entry into Fate Mode, or an instant game over. A level-up advances the player up the prize ladder and increases the potential cash out, while Fate Mode swaps in a different die that raises both the number of steps climbed and the risk of landing a game over.
Four difficulty settings
The title offers four difficulty levels, each carrying a different risk and reward profile. As difficulty increases, so does the chance of an early game over, alongside the maximum available multiplier, which spans from 35x on Easy to 2,400x on Brutal.
When a player nears the top of the ladder, within one or two steps of the maximum multiplier, an All or Nothing round is triggered. This is resolved using a red and gold die with a side count tied to the chosen difficulty level, offering only two outcomes: the maximum win or a game over.
After a successful cash out, the game reveals the multiplier that would have been reached had the player continued rolling, a feature intended to support strategic play.
First step beyond slots
Heads Will Roll represents Thunderkick’s first release outside the slots category, reflecting a broader move to diversify its game portfolio.
Mike Collins, Game Product Owner at Thunderkick, said player interest in crash and arcade-style games has grown significantly in 2025, driven by demand for fast, instant-gratification betting rounds. He added that while the new title departs from the studio’s usual slot mechanics, it retains the visual style associated with the Thunderkick brand.
Thunderkick was founded in Stockholm in 2012 and operates with more than 80 in-house staff. Its titles, including Midas Golden Touch, Pink Elephants and the Esqueleto Explosivo series, are distributed via its own Remote Gaming Server to operators such as Bet365, William Hill, LeoVegas, 888 Casino, Mr Green, PokerStars Casino, ComeOn, Unibet and Betsson.
