Altenar adds social betting features via The Watchers partnership
Sportsbook provider Altenar has integrated with community chat platform The Watchers to let authenticated users share bets and tips within its sportsbook.
Altenar, a sports betting and iGaming software provider, has announced a partnership with community chat provider The Watchers to introduce social betting functionality to its sportsbook, effective 13 February 2025.
The integration creates a dedicated chat channel for each event listed on the sportsbook, allowing verified users to interact with one another directly on the event page. Players will be able to share betting tips, discuss strategies and react to outcomes in real time.
Copyable bets and influencer engagement
A key feature of the tool allows users to share their bets within a channel, with other players able to click on a shared bet to have it automatically populate their own betslip. Operators can also use the feature to work with influencers, who can share picks and commentary to drive traffic and engagement.
Users will have the option to create personal avatars for use within the chat channels. To manage the community aspect, the integration includes an external back-office tool offering moderation controls and natural language recognition, enabling operators to filter or ban specific words and phrases.
Retention and turnover benefits
According to Altenar, the social betting feature is designed to increase user engagement and turnover, partly through bet prompts generated by other members of the community. The company said the wider aim is to help operators build a loyal player base by fostering a sense of community around the betting experience.
The move forms part of Altenar’s ongoing product development as it looks to expand the range of engagement tools available to its operator partners.
The announcement was issued by Altenar, founded in 2011, which describes itself as a turnkey sportsbook provider focused on customising solutions for different markets and audiences.
