Lightning Box launches second UltraUp title with Chili Chomp

Light & Wonder has gone live with Chili Chomp UltraUp, the second title in the UltraUp franchise developed by its Lightning Box studio. The slot is themed around a Mexican street carnival, drawing on Day of the Dead imagery for its visual style.

The game runs on a 5x3 grid with 40 paylines and carries high volatility. Skull symbols act as wilds, while landing six or more Scatter Skulls triggers the UltraUp Respins feature, a variation on the Hold and Spin mechanic.

Expanding reels and jackpots

During the UltraUp Respins, an UltraUp symbol can appear as the reel format expands from 3x5 up to 4x5 or 5x5. Chili symbols landing during this feature reset the respin counter to three, and any Chili that lands on the UltraUp symbol raises its level, increasing potential payouts.

Three tiers of chili symbols are available, with red chilis offering the top prizes. The game also includes four jackpot levels, Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, with a maximum win capped at 5,000 times the stake. Unlocking 10 or 15 chilis further expands the reels before all accumulated prizes are paid out at the end of the respins.

A separate Free Games Feature is triggered by landing three bonus symbols, giving players a choice between six free spins with additional Scatter Skulls, or twelve free spins in which every Scatter Skull converts into a Scatter Skull Wild.

Chili Chomp UltraUp is currently available exclusively through BetMGM for online players in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario.
