SIS honoured with Princess Royal Training Award for staff development scheme

SIS (Sports Information Services), the 24/7 live betting content provider, has won a Princess Royal Training Award for its internal LEADERship development programme.

The award was announced on 15 August, coinciding with HRH The Princess Royal’s 75th birthday, following an assessment process run by the City & Guilds Foundation, which created the awards scheme in 2016. A formal presentation ceremony is due to take place later this year, which marks the tenth anniversary of the awards.

A five-year development partnership

The LEADERship programme has been delivered in partnership with training consultancy Co-Creation for the past five years. Structured as a 12-month course, it is designed to help staff build the skills needed to progress into more senior roles within the business.

Areas covered include confidence building, delegation, presentation skills and encouraging staff to work more closely across different departments. SIS said the programme has supported a number of employees in advancing into leadership positions across the company.

Gail Haworth, Head of HR Business Partnering at SIS, said graduates of the programme had continued to take on greater responsibility and leadership roles over the past five years, adding that the award reflected the company’s commitment to training and development.

Kath Thomas of Co-Creation described the recognition as testament to SIS’s long-term investment in its people, while colleague Keith Stopforth said it had been rewarding to see participants develop into confident leaders over the course of the partnership.

SIS has operated in the betting content sector for more than 35 years, supplying live racing, esports and numbers-draw content to over 400 retail and online operators in more than 50 countries.
