Thunderkick rounds off Esqueleto Explosivo trilogy with Cluster Pays debut
Thunderkick has released Esqueleto Explosivo 3, the final title in its Day of the Dead-themed slot series, introducing a Cluster Pays mechanic and multipliers of up to 1,024x.
Stockholm-based slots studio Thunderkick has launched Esqueleto Explosivo 3, completing the trilogy of its Day of the Dead-themed series and marking a departure from the mechanics used in the previous two instalments.
The new title moves the action to an expanded 5x5 grid and swaps the series’ traditional payline structure for a Cluster Pays mechanic, in which wins are formed by five or more matching symbols in adjacent positions.
Familiar features, higher ceiling
The Cascading Wins feature returns, with winning symbol combinations exploding to leave behind a regular Wild or an Explosivo Wild. The latter destroys symbols in a surrounding 3x3 area, allowing new icons to drop into place.
As in the earlier games, base game wins and Explosivo Wilds increase the Mucho Multiplier, while landing three scatter symbols triggers a bonus round beginning with 10 free spins. During the bonus, Explosivo Wilds are collected beneath the reels, with every third one triggering an extra spin and removing the lowest base multiplier in play.
Thunderkick has increased the maximum multiplier available in the bonus round from 32x in the original game to 1,024x in the new release, lifting overall win potential from 5,000x to 7,500x.

Mike Collins, Game Product Owner at Thunderkick, said each entry in the Esqueleto Explosivo series has built on the last, citing the jump from 32x multipliers and 700x win potential in the original title to the latest figures in Esqueleto Explosivo 3. He described the series as the studio’s most successful and said the new release is intended to appeal to existing fans as well as attract new players for Thunderkick’s operator partners.
