Altenar secures ISO 27001:2022 recertification
Sportsbook and iGaming software supplier Altenar has renewed its ISO 27001 certification under the 2022 standard, expanding its scope to cover new regions and a recently formed entity.
Altenar, a sports betting and iGaming software provider, has been recertified against the updated ISO 27001:2022 information security standard, the company announced on 27 May 2025.
The certification confirms the strength of Altenar’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) and its approach to protecting client and stakeholder data amid growing cyber threats. It also supports the company’s existing gaming licences and regulatory certifications, helping ensure alignment with technical requirements across the markets in which it operates.
Updated standard, wider scope
The 2022 version of ISO 27001 introduces additional controls relating to threat intelligence, data masking, data leakage prevention and web filtering, aimed at helping organisations respond to modern cyber risks.
Altenar’s recertification also reflects an expanded operational scope, now covering new regions in South America and South Africa as well as its newly established entity, Agreegain Limited.
Fourth consecutive year
Denise Vella, Director of Information Security at Altenar, said the achievement marked the fourth consecutive year the company has held the certification, crediting the efforts of its growing security team and a broader company-wide security culture. She added that protecting customer data remains central to Altenar’s daily operations and that the recertification reinforces the company’s focus on security, compliance and trust.
Altenar was founded in 2011 and provides turnkey sportsbook solutions, with a focus on tailoring its offering to different markets and partners.
